Comfort and Wellness, Inner Image

One of the cornerstones of the Inner Image approach to beauty is a desire to help our patients not only look better, but to feel better. As an extension of this commitment to your comfort and wellness, we have made it a point to identify and implement technology and treatments that can improve your comfort level and well-being before, during and after the procedures that we provide.

Reaching the decision to undergo a cosmetic procedure and selecting the treatment that will achieve your personal vision can be stressful – we do all we can to make the process easy, educate you about what to expect, and reduce any stress to speed healing.

Cryo Mini Chiller by Zimmer

The Cryo Mini by Zimmer uses cooled air to lower skin temperature, reducing pain and swelling and helping muscles to relax. This sophisticated device works quickly and ensures a constant application of cooling during the time that it is in use. It can filter and cool down air from the room in which it is being operated to minus 10 degrees Centigrade, and, if needed, deliver chilled air at a rate of 1000L per minute.

The Cryo Mini is especially useful in conjunction with cosmetic laser resurfacing treatments to address damaged skin, scars, wrinkles, age spots, etc.

Applying cold air during laser treatments can reduce pain and also reduce the possibility of thermal damage to tissue from the laser. It can also provide temporary relief following cosmetic injections.

Cryo Mini Before Your Surgery

Local cryotherapy with the Cryo Mini can be provided prior to a surgical treatment. This preventative device can help promote healing, reduce inflammation and limit the risk of bleeding during the surgery and afterward.

Post-Surgery Use of the Cryo Mini

Local applications of chilled air at Inner Image can help you recover from cosmetic surgery or other procedures more rapidly. Cold air can be delivered to areas of swelling, bruising or pain at any area of the body, including the face. Doing so has benefits including faster reduction of swelling and bruising. Aside from lessening discomfort, this is good for your appearance (and morale).
Cryotherapy can be helpful in the aftermath of procedures including:

  • Face lifts
  • Nose jobs (rhinoplasty)
  • Breast augmentation or reduction
  • Tummy tucks
  • Liposuction
  • Fat grafting
  • Body contouring
  • Botox
  • Dermal fillers
  • Skin resurfacing

When planning and scheduling your procedure, be sure to discuss the applicability of cryotherapy in your case.

LightStim®

Laser light therapy can stimulate energy production in the skin, with a number of therapeutic benefits. LightStim devices are designed to deliver various colors, or wavelengths, of light directly to the skin. LightStim can be used to smooth lines and wrinkles, treat acne and relieve pain and stiffness in muscles and joints.

This technology has been approved for use in cosmetic procedures by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, and is the most recent evolution of therapies that have been in practice for nearly two decades.

Why Use LightStim After Your Procedure?

One of the ways that Inner Image utilizes LightStim is to assist patients during their recovery from cosmetic procedures. The light penetrates the outer layer of the skin and increases blood circulation. This increased circulation resulting from LightStim treatment can help speed the healing process after a surgery, reducing swelling and bruising and easing discomfort. As an additional benefit, it can also stimulate the production of collagen and elastin, further supporting your efforts to help your skin become more smooth, moist and elastic.

Pro-Nox™

Nitrous oxide, also known as “laughing gas,” has been used in a variety of applications for more than a century, from dentistry to labor and delivery. Inhaling a mixture of this gas and oxygen can quickly reduce pain and anxiety during medical procedures.
The Pro-Nox system was developed to bring this resource to aesthetic medicine. It can be implemented in situations where a particular patient is likely to be uncomfortable or anxious. This can include procedures including liposuction, microneedling, dermal injections, etc.

The patient is provided with a plastic tube with a mouthpiece. In the event that they begin to feel tense, experience worrying pain, etc., they can take a few deep breaths. Oxygen and nitrous oxide will be delivered through the mouthpiece and any pain or discomfort will decrease very soon afterward.

What Are the Benefits of Pro-Nox?

Pro-Nox is an attractive option during cosmetic procedures for a number of reasons:

  • The combined use of oxygen and nitrous oxide, in the 50/50 mix that Pro-Nox delivers, has long been established as safe.
  • Nitrous oxide has very mild anesthetic properties. It will wear off in a few minutes and you will be able to drive home.
  • You have control over when (or if) you use it.
  • The results are instant. If you are feeling uncomfortable, relief is only a deep breath away.
  • The system is non-invasive. No needles or IVs are required.
