Pre-treatment Instructions
In order to minimize your downtime and enhance your experience and recovery, please make sure to follow these general instructions for your specific treatment(s). If you have any questions, or need clarification, please feel free to contact our office. We look forward to seeing you soon.
ALL FILLERS
- Please make sure you have discontinued the use of Aspirin, Advil, NSAID’s, Multi Vitamins, Fish Oils, Omega 3 Fatty Acids, Vitamin E, Gingko Biloba or any other blood thinning medications and supplements 7-10 DAYS prior to your treatment.
- To minimize swelling, avoid alcohol and high sodium foods within 24 hours of treatment. If you have any type of allergy we suggest taking an allergy medication the night before.
- For bruise prevention we suggest taking homeopathic Arnica Montana (Sinecch is provided at our office) the night before or on the day of your treatment.
- If you have perioral herpes, begin prophylactic antiviral therapy the day before or notify the office at time of arrival.
- Please notify office if you have ever had MRSA, a recent staph infection, or open lesions.
NEUROTOXINS:
- Please make sure you have discontinued the use of any Aspirin, Advil, NSAID’s, Multi Vitamins, Fish Oils, Omega 3 Fatty Acids, Vitamin E, Gingko Biloba or any other blood thinning medications and supplements 5-7 days prior to your treatment.
MICROPEN:
- No Retin-A products or applications 24 hours prior to your treatment
- No Auto-immune therapies or products 24 hours prior to your treatment
- If you have allergies it is recommended to take an antihistamine the night before treatment
- Discontinue blood thinning medications, aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil, Vitamin E and any other multivitamins 14 days prior to treatment
- NO injectible fillers for 2 months prior to treatment, with the exception of lips and under-eye area
- No prolonged sun exposure to the face 3 days prior to your treatment. A Dermapen treatment cannot be administered on sunburned skin
ULTHERAPY:
- Please make sure you have discontinued the use of any Aspirin, Advil, NSAID’s, Multi Vitamins, Fish Oils, Omega 3 Fatty Acids, Vitamin E, Gingko Biloba or any other blood thinning medications and supplements 5-7 days prior to your treatment.
- For bruise prevention we suggest starting Arnica Montana (Sinecch is provided at our office) the night before or on the day of your treatment.
- If you have a tendency to develop cold sores begin prophylactic antiviral therapy the day before or notify the office at time of arrival in order to prevent an outbreak
- To minimize discomfort for Ulthera Lift we administer an oral anti-anxiety medication so we do ask that you secure a ride home after your treatment.
- Please notify the office if you have had recent facial surgery or facial implants or if you have ever had MRSA, a recent staph infection, or open lesions.
LASER HAIR REMOVAL:
- Shave with ELECTRIC razor only – cannot treat with razor burn fine stubble should be seen on day of treatment.
- DO NOT wax or tweeze between treatments, but it is okay to shave
- Stop all exfoliants and acids 5 days prior.
- For bikini and facial treatments only: If you have a tendency to develop herpetic outbreaks begin prophylactic antiviral therapy the day before or notify the office at time of arrival.
- Please avoid excessive sun exposure, tanning creams or tanning of any kind 3-4 weeks prior to treatment.
- Wear sunblock daily.
LASER TREATMENTS:
IPL Photofacial, Fractional Laser Treatments, Scar Treatments, Acne Laser Treatments, Bruise Treatments
- Discontinue the use of retin-a, glycolic acids, salicylic acid, benzyl peroxide, hydroquinone, or any type of cream that causes exfoliation for 5 days prior and after.
- Please avoid excessive sun exposure, tanning cream or tanning of any kind 3-4 weeks prior to treatment.
- Wear sunblock daily.
- For face only: If you have a tendency to develop cold sores begin prophylactic antiviral therapy the day before or notify the office at time of arrival in order to prevent an outbreak.
- Please notify the office if you have taken Accutane in the last 6 months, or had a medical peel or laser treatment in the last 6 weeks at another facility..
- Avoid facials 5 days prior to treatment
- Please notify office if you have ever had MRSA, a recent staph infection, or open lesions.
VANQUISH/EXILIS ULTRA:
- Please arrive at your appointment well hydrated. Ideally, you should hydrate the day before, the day of, and the day after your treatment. As a guideline, please drink half of your body weight in ounces plus one glass. (i.e. if you weigh 150 lbs., drink a minimum of 75 oz. of water.)
LEVULAN:
- SAME AS LASER TREATMENTS
- Bring large, brimmed hat, sunglasses and scarf.
- Notify office if you have recently been diagnosed of skin cancer
- Please notify office if you have ever had MRSA, a recent staph infection, or open lesions.
KYBELLA:
To decrease your risk of bruising:
- Please discontinue the use of: Aspirin, Advil, NSAID’s, Multi Vitamins, Fish Oils, Omega 3 Fatty Acids, Vitamin E, Gingko Biloba, herbal supplements, or any other blood thinning medications 7 days prior to your treatment. **Tylenol is okay to use**
- For further prevention we suggest starting homeopathic oral Arnica Montana (Sinnech) the night before or on the day of your treatment. Sinnech sold at our office and can be shipped in advance or administered at time of arrival.
- Avoid alcoholic beverages within 24 hours of treatment.
FEMILIFT & EXILIS FEMME 360:
- Schedule your appointment at a time when you are not on your menstrual cycle during or 7 prior to the treatment (External treatment with Femme360 excluded)
- To receive treatment, you must provide a copy of recent PAP exam results. A negative PAP exam within 3 months of your scheduled appointment is required. If you need a PAP exam, you can schedule one at Inner Image for a flat fee. (External treatment with Femme360 excluded)
- If you have a history of genital herpes, begin prophylactic antiviral therapy the day before treatment.
- Please notify the office if you are menstruating, pregnant or breastfeeding.
- Please notify the office if you have a CURRENT outbreak of Human Papilloma Virus (HPV), genital herpes (HSV) infection, or any active infection in the treatment area.
- Please notify office if you have a significant change in your health history, or start steroid therapy.
- Do not bleach, wax, tweeze or use depilatory creams in treatment area (labia and vaginal canal) 1-2 days prior.
- Discontinue vaginal products or vaginal topical prescriptions 3 days prior to treatment.
- For Exilis Ultra Femme 360, arrive at your appointment well hydrated. Ideally, you should hydrate the day before, the day of, and the day after your treatment. As a guideline, please drink half of your body weight in ounces plus one glass. (i.e. if you weigh 150 lbs., drink a minimum of 75 oz. of water.)
- To optimize your experience, drink plenty of water and eat something within 3 hours of your appointment.
EMSELLA:
- Schedule your appointment at a time when you are not on your menstrual cycle during treatment
- Please notify the office if you are menstruating, pregnant or breastfeeding.
- Please notify the office if you have a CURRENT outbreak of Human Papilloma Virus (HPV), genital herpes (HSV) infection, hemorrhoids, or any active infection in the treatment area.
- Please notify office if you have a significant change in your health history, or start steroid therapy.
- On the day of treatment, wear loose, comfortable clothes, avoiding any clothes with metal.
